Range Rover Evoque Set to Spawn Posh SVAutobiography Model

2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic edition

Land Rover clearly believes that you can’t have too much of a good thing, certainly when it comes to loading both specification and price onto the Range Rover Evoque. The company’s design director, Gerry McGovern, has reportedly confirmed to Australian site Car Advice that there are plans to produce an SVAutobiography version of the babiest Rangie, hot on the heels of the unveiling of the full-sized version last week at the New York auto show.

The full-size Range Rover SVAutobiography has basically been designed both to show Bentley that—ahead of the launch of the Bentyaga—that Land Rover can also offer megabucks SUVs to the discerning millionaire who wants to stand out. Indeed, standing out seems a big part of the brief for the SVAutobiography, which gets unique two-tone paintwork. McGovern used the word “expensive” to describe its design no fewer than three times when he introduced it at a preview event before the show. We can therefore anticipate the Evoque will be similarly reworked with copious extra equipment, some upmarket materials, and probably also a modest power increase over the standard Evoque’s 240 horsepower. It will also quite possibly get the same contrasting coachwork as its big sister.

We can safely predict it also will be wincingly expensive. Although putting a price on it is pure speculation at this point—the regular Autobiography, pictured above, starts at $60,925—we’d be guessing it will near or even crest $70,000. Yet it still wouldn’t be the priciest Evoque: Remember the zingily named Special Edition with Victoria Beckham?
