New photos leaked to CrunchGear allegedly depicting the yet to be released fifth-generation of Apple’s highly successful iPod touch show that the home button has been removed, in favor of a capacitive touch interface. The leaked photos shows a device marked with “DVT-1,” the same badge found in earlier iPod touch prototypes leaked in 2010. This iPod touch G5 prototype has 128GB of memory, runs on iOS version 4.2.1MC14, and is marked with the model MC550LL. Looking at the photos EXIF data, one can see that they were taken with a Samsung Digimax A402, which was released back in 2005.
