iPhone 5 may have a 12.6-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording

iPhone 5 may have a 12.6-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording: "

Apple currently buys camera sensors from OmniVision, but a Sony CEO accidentally leaked some info hinting that Apple will switch to Sony for the iPhone 5. It was predicted that the iPhone 5 would have an 8-megapixel camera from Sony. The reason that Apple would switch to Sony for a sensor is that OmniVision could not supply enough sensors to keep up with standard iPhone production. But all of this might change now that OmniVision is coming out with a 12.6-megapixel camera capable of full 1080p HD video recording. The sensor, named OV12825, is currently in testing and is reported to be in full production by the end of Spring 2011. This could give Apple enough time to decide whether or not they want to stay with OmniVision. If Apple decides to go through with OmniVision and a 12.6-megapixel camera, the iPhone 5 could be a huge device for photographers and amateur filmmakers. The iPhone 4 currently has a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording.
