Thanks to Brabus, Armani-suited executives and arms dealers can finally meet the nagging challenge of working effectively at 219 mph.
Designed to work with Apple’s electro-crêpe du jour, the iPad 2, iBusiness 2.0 is a fully-integrated system built around a proprietary iOS app and a Mac Mini hub mounted in a swanky enclosure under the rear package tray. And don’t fret about the marketing tendency to end every brand name with “2.0″—there actually was a first-gen system from Brabus.
All well and good, one might contend, but Harry’s High-Class Audio Warehouse has done some sweet Mac Mini installs on VIP-style S-Classes for the local Yakuzabes; why should I drop what is sure to be serious ducats on this German job? An electrically-actuated 15.2-inch monitor swings down from the headliner to serve as an auxiliary monitor, freeing up the headrest-mounted screens for checking the business reports or conducting video conferences via Apple’s FaceTime application. A 64-gig iPod Touch holds up to 14,000 of your favorite Tangerine Dream, Nina Hagen, and UFO tracks, which can be spun through the car’s sound system or a pair of noise-canceling Sennheisers. A locking custom console with an integrated charging dock holds the iPad when not in use.
While Brabus predictably chose to debut iBusiness 2.0 in a loaded-to-the-gills 800 model with a full-custom interior showcasing their Yachting wood package, the company is willing to install the system in any current-gen S-class, even if yours is an example that doesn’t top out at an electronically limited 219 mph.
