7 injured after Joy Air plane skids off runway


A flight operated by low-cost carrier Joy Air skidded off the runway at Fuzhou airport in the Chinese province of Fujian on Saturday.

Seven passengers were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries, according to South China Morning Post. Photos from the scene showed damage to both wings of the plane

Joy Air Flight 1529, headed to Fuzhou from Yiwu, in Zhejiang province, was carrying 45 passengers and seven crew

One passenger said that the tires blew upon landing, and an airport worker told the South China Morning Post that the aircraft was smoking after it skidded onto a grassy area by the runway. Read more...
